About Energy Management & Efficiency in SEDA Malaysia
SEDA Act empowered SEDA on sustainable energy including energy efficiency and conservation.
“An Act to provide for the establishment of the SEDA Malaysia and to provide for its functions and powers and for the related matters”.
“Sustainable energy” means energy which, in its generation, provision and use (demand), is such that it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs and includes renewable energy”.
The vision of SEDA Malaysia is to promote the development of sustainable energy measures as part of the solutions towards achieving energy security and autonomy.
Energy Management
Generally, energy management can be described as all activities to ensure efficient use of energy in the organization and it is required due to its influence on operation and activities. In another word energy management is the process of managing the energy use in the organization to ensure that energy has been efficiently use through adopting energy management system to achieve desired results and for continual improvement of the energy consumption performance. Energy management in an organization will cover all aspects of energy including the people and the equipment in the daily operation of the energy using facilities. While Sustainable Energy Management is the on-going process of managing the energy use in the organization to ensure that energy has been efficiently used by adopting energy management system to achieve desired results and for continual improvement. It covers all aspects of energy which is the people the equipment in the daily operation of the facilities.
Energy Efficiency
Energy efficiency can be defined using the same or less amount of energy to produce the better output or using less energy to accomplish the same task or to enjoy the same comfort level.
