The Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga or ST) is a statutory body with the role to regulate the energy sector in Malaysia, specifically the electricity supply industry and piped gas supply industry in the Peninsular and Sabah. The Energy Commission is responsible to ensure that the supply of electricity and piped gas to consumers is reliable, safe and at reasonable prices.
“Public installation” is an installation carried out by the licensee to supply electricity to any person other than licensee: provided that licensee can use the electricity for specific purposes as long as the use is consistent with the terms of the licence.
