Webinar on Shaping the Future of Green Hydrogen Economy
Hydrogen as a fuel has been around for a long time. Although a colourless gas, hydrogen is discussed in a myriad of colours – black, brown, grey, yellow, blue, turquoise and green. Of late there has been a surge of interest in green hydrogen projects. Green hydrogen is hydrogen generated from renewable energy. It is regarded as the fuel which can reduce energy transition gaps in sectors which cannot be easily electrified, and this includes the hard to abate and energy-intensive industry sectors. According to BNEF, the global installed electrolyzers could reach 3,000GW by 2050 with a caveat that such growth will require intervention policies and scale. To this end, governments are coming up with their national hydrogen strategy as part of their energy transition plan to decarbonize their energy sector. Private sectors especially those in the oil and gas, and the traditional power utility sectors in Europe are pledging to reach carbon neutrality by 2050; these companies are starting to divest by including green hydrogen in their new portfolio of energy assets. In this webinar, we will gain insights to countries and technology providers within the Asia-Pacific region on their strategic plan for green hydrogen.
