PUTRAJAYA (April 19): The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) is set to boost the promotion of the Sustainability Achieved via Energy Efficiency (SAVE) 2.0 programme, as only 40,000 households have benefited from it so far.
SEDA chairman Lukanisman Awang Sauni said only RM8 million out of the RM30 million allocated by the government had so far been spent under the programme, which is expected to benefit 140,000 households.
SAVE 2.0 offers an e-rebate of RM200 to households purchasing energy-efficient air conditioners or refrigerators through the Lazada and Shoppee platforms, whereby the items sold must be certified by Energy Commission (ST) as four- or five-star energy appliances.
